Our team has several Kendo UI licenses.  We have been using Kendo UI for jQuery withour .NET web applications but are now looking at Angular. In the "Getting started" section for UI for Angular, I don't see anything that mentions including a license file etc.  So anyone can download and install the components via npm, its support that is the benefit of licensing?

Hello Randal,

Indeed, the Kendo UI for Angular packages are distributed via NPM and there are no separate licensed and non-licensed versions, and there is no further action required on your end (like including license files, credentials, etc.).

The Kendo UI for Angular suite is available for all license holders that have a Kendo UI license (or one that includes Kendo UI). It can be used like all other licensed products under this license in accordance with the End User License Agreement.

In general, the license enables you to use the Kendo UI for Angular components in your applications as well as to benefit from our support service in accordance with your support plan.

I can suggest contacting your sales representative if you have further or more detailed questions about licensing and using our packages.

We also have same question. We create a trial account for Kendo UI and install packages using NPM. Now we bought Kendo license, so do we need to changed anything in our project to use for production. I can't find anything related to this in our project with Angular Kendo packages.

Hi Gaurang,

Indeed, Kendo UI for Angular packages can be installed via NPM in the same manner regardless of the license. The license gives you the legal right to use our components in your applications in accordance of the End User License Agreement for the respective license, e.g.:

https://www.telerik.com/purchase/license-agreement/kendo-ui

You do not need to change anything in your application, related to Kendo UI for Angular licensing.

Hi Nerin,

Indeed there is no dedicated download package for Kendo UI for Angular, similar to what other products have in the Telerik account's Download page.

Kendo UI for Angular components are distributed via the public NPM registry and can be installed and used as described in the respective sections of our documentation:

https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/getting-started/#toc-project-setup

https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/grid/#toc-installation

https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/charts/#toc-installation ... etc. (each package has its own Installation section).

There are no separate "licensed" and "non-licensed" versions of the packages and logging to the privately scoped registry (or providing your license/credentials in some other manner, or including it in the created Angular application(s)) is not required.

The license enables you to legally use the Kendo UI for Angular components in your application(s) in accordance with the End User License Agreement, and our support service in accordance with the purchased support plan.

To sum up - all packages are publicly available via NPM, and there are no different "paid" and "non-paid" versions of the packages. The process for installing and using the packages is described in the "Installation" section of each package's documentation (like the ones linked above).

I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,
Martin
