Wouldn't it be nice, if Telerik provided some type of "Certification Track" ?

I was wondering how I could suggest the idea to Telerik, to provide "Official Certifications" for people to obtain. Would be another revenue stream for them and something I would like to study for and achieve.

Thoughts?

what would be the benefit of such certification program? How many companies do you know that require some proof about your skills with the Telerik controls (or any other vendor)? If you just need to learn how to use the telerik controls you can use the consulting services - http://www.telerik.com/consulting.aspx. Ain't that enough or you just need another certificate on the wall behind you :) ?

Cheers,
Poul

Yeah I admit, I just want another cert on the wall behind me :) Also thought it might be helpful if our sales guy could go out and say "Hey we use certified on Telerik controls and use them in all of our web applications", as another selling point. But mainly just want another notch in the belt.

I agree too.

I'm in Italy and many company contact me because I have telerik skill.

At this moment telerik is going to do a lot of things (kendo ui for web mobile development in a multi environment, icenium with phone gap, first to announce a support to kanban in their pm software)

Be certified with telerik is a prove to trust our know how

They've offered certifications for quite some time now, actually. They just think so little of their programmers from the developed countries in the world that Telerik deemed it appropriate to only offer certification courses in Bulgarian. See http://telerikacademy.com/. The fact that they couldn't be bothered to respond to this thread in so many years is quite telling too. I did a whois...the domain is definitely owned by Telerik.

Hello Brandon,

Telerik Certification programs are coming soon. Kendo UI for Web is likely to be the first to get it, and it should be live in a couple of weeks. We are planning to have the AJAX suite follow shortly afterwards. They will be announced when they are available.

Hi,

To be frank, the plan for Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX certification is postponed to indefinite period of time.

Telerik offers currently only Sitefinity Developer Certification

I am a freelancer in .net, the fact that telerik offers some certifications in their products convince me to use their ui as Microsoft third party controls... Especially when you are new in a developer market, even with a lot of years of experiences, it still hard to convince a customer that you have solids knowledge in different tools (I.e .net wpf, .net asp MVC, xamarin, etc) at the same time.

Developer Certifications are one of the best way to prove someone especially a customer that you are confident in this area.

I think Telerik developer certifications are also a best marketing plus value in opposite to other ui competitors.

So telerik team keep going on with certification offers in  your different products.

Hi,

Thank you for your nice and thorough feedback!

We always strive to build not only quality and useful tools to the developers, but also help them become confident and proficient with them through the support resources and our certification program. If and when we add more certification programs, we will follow the same mantra as we did for Kendo UI – you can read about it here - http://www.telerik.com/blogs/introducing-kendo-ui-developer-certification.

Your feedback is really important for us, since it clearly shows that we are on the right track with the certification program.

Kind regards,
Rumen
