How do you access the properties of a custom provider?

Hi there,

I have implemented a custom provider for my RadScheduler, and everything appears to be working - at least, the overridden methods in that provider are being called when the scheduler loads up.

But in order to get it working completely, I have to have access to the public interface of my custom provider from the form on which my scheduler appears. And that is a lot trickier than I had expected. See, the scheduler has a "ProviderName" property, which is set, as expected, to "MyCustomProvider1". But the Provider property does not refer to an instance of the MyCustomProvider class! scheduler.Provider.Description even says "MyCustomProvider1" - but how do I get access to the MyCustomProvider object itself?

Height not being applied correctly?

Ive set the height tag and it applies the height to some of the FileExplorer but it still extens another 500px or more below where I tell it to stop no matter what the height tag says. Even applying a css with the height of the HTML/Form/body its still extanding past the area but it doesnt show (Though if there were items that went past the hight they wouldnt be viewable)

Dynamically adding nodes resulting in ViewState error

I have a RadTreeView declared on an .ascx page. All nodes are dynamically added later on a postback. I'm getting the following error:

Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-back must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request.

I'm able to get around this in the case where I will always have just one root node by adding a dummy node to the tree view on the initial load of the page, then clearing that node prior to adding the actual root node followed by its children. I'm not able to get around it though in the case where I have multiple root nodes, because the number of root nodes depends on some user selections prior to a postback where the nodes are loaded.

I did just upgrade to the AJAX controls from the classic controls, and I was not having this problem with the classic controls.

[Solved] Link not opening window???

Hello
I'm doing the most basic instance of a Rad Window on my site, but the rad windows are not opening when I click the link.

RAD Self-referencing hierarchy grid - Need help

HI guys,

I was using this sample to build a small prototype on a self referencing hireachical grid

It works fine, the grid shows nested items.
My grid has these diferences then from the sample.

1) I have put the expand-collapse button on a GridButtonColumn
2) I am using an XML file to load the data into the grid
3) I have only one level children

The problem I am having is these
1) The child item records do not shift properly, that is the child item shows up in the next level without ample spacing up, and does not give the user an impression that it is a nested item (Please see attached screen shot)

2) I want to filter out the child items when I am showing the grid initially and only show the root items (I am using an xml file as my datsource)

Can some one help me on this,

Permanent highlighting of the selected item

Hi,

My PaneBar works with ExpandMode="SingleExpandedItem". When I select an item it is highlighted. When I hover over various items within the same group it is highlighted correctly all the time. But when I expand another group and then - expand back the previous one, the selected item is no longer highlighted.
Is it possible to keep the selected item highlighted in this context?
All above is at the client side only.
I know that I can manually set some properties of the selected item in OnItemClicked event handler - but it would be great to use the built-in functionality.

DataBinding issue

Hi, It might be very simple question but I am confusing.

On scheduler, depends on user selection recurrence we are storing data in Database.
When I do reopen that webpage, on some click event I am reloading that recurrence data from database and trying to bind it to control.

I am using code like this when binding to control.

RadScheduler.DataStartField =

Convert.ToDateTime(partyUnavailability.StartDate).ToString();

RadScheduler.DataEndField =

Convert.ToDateTime(partyUnavailability.EndDate).ToString();

RadScheduler.DataSourceID = partyUnavailability.Id.ToString();

I am giving all necessary fields to bind it control. Even though its not displaying on scheduler.

Please Correct me if I am wrong.

Default to Edit Mode and set focus

I've setup a radgrid to open in edit mode but also want the focus to be on a specific text box "Allowed" on the first row of the radgrid.The following code sets the radgrid to edit, but i have been unsuccessful in getting any of the focus routines to work correctly.

Bug? - GridHtmlEditorColumn inside RadAjaxPanel or Updated via Ajaxmanager

I'm updating an objectdatasource. When the grid containing the htmleditorcolumn is outside the ajax panel it works fine. When the grid is inside the radajaxpanel the htmleditorcolumn is the only column that will not update the datasource. I am using version 2008.2 723.

After further testing, it appears to always work in IE but it behaves as described above in Firefox and Safari.

ActiveSkill project tutorial

I am working through this tutorial from the RadControls courseware, when executing the script "NetworkServicePermissions.sql", the following sql error(s) occur:
Msg 15259, Level 16, State 1, Line 5
The DEFAULT_SCHEMA clause cannot be used with a Windows group or with principals mapped to certificates or asymmetric keys.
Msg 15151, Level 16, State 1, Line 8
Cannot find the user 'NETWORK SERVICE', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.
This limitation is either by design or a bug in TSQL, do you currently have a work-around for this script?
