Telerik Reporting
With R2 2021, we’ve enabled embedding the latest Web Report Designer in Blazor application using a dedicated Blazor component. In this way, report users will be able to create and design reports directly into your Blazor application, ensuring a unified and sleek user experience.
With the second release of 2021, the Web Report Designer has been improved with the following new features:
Implement drag & drop behavior for data fields in the Explorer tab to easily generate text boxes with the appropriate expression to reference the dragged field and also to easily position and parent them on the report surface.
Implement drag & drop behavior for the components in the Components tab to easily position and parent them on the report surface.
Easily add dynamic table groups from a dedicated context menu to the table item.
With R2 2021, we’ve introduced Swiss QR Code support in line with the new Swiss QR Bill, which requires the gradual replacement of payment slips with digital QR codes. The new Swiss Barcode exposes a rich API, enabling easy setup of all required entities to generate output that conforms to all corresponding government regulations.
We've added more report content themes to the new band report wizard so that report authors have more options to choose from. The new themes are:
With R2 2021, it’s easier to embed Telerik Reporting into a .NET 5 web application. The dedicated VS Item Template will add the REST reports service implementation into your project or will set up the connection to a Report Server based on the preference you indicate in the template wizard. It will also add all the client-side resources needed for the UI along with a functional web page integrating the HTML5 Report Viewer.
The report model API now allows hiding an export option, changing its description and changing the export parameters for a particular report. To utilize this functionality, set the RuntimeSetting property of the report object, accessible from the report designer tools. The settings would get respected when a report viewer lists the available export options and when previewing a report in all the report designers. The export options will also be respected when programmatically exporting a report.
We’ve introduced dark variations of the Material VisualStudio2019 themes to the WPF report viewer to conform to our rich Telerik UI for WPF product and make embedding reports into Telerik-based applications easier.
Microsoft started releasing Preview versions of the next major .NET version - .NET 6. To make sure things work smoothly in your app, we released .NET-6-supported tools and demos that you can use if you plan to employ the new version of .NET in your future projects.
