Hello librido,
If you are using a non-embedded custom skin for any of the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX, you can place the skin anywhere you find it convenient. The only requirement is to make sure that:
1) the CSS file is registered when and where needed
2) the image references in the CSS file are correct
Depending on the control, which you are using, you may need to set some image path for the images, which are not referenced by the skin, but by the control directly (for example some image buttons for RadGrid or RadCalendar).
