Hi,
I have been trying to get a webpart in WSS using Rad Tree Control embedded in a User Control. The node expand was set to Webservice and created an asmx webservice for it. I tried to place the asmx in the _vti_bin folder, buit for some reason when it is invoked it keeps asking for user credentials. Could you please provide some guidance as to how this can be removed or point me to some examples of using asmx webservices for RadControls in WSS?

Thanks

As I understand this error, the issue lies in the fact that the ASMX webservices calls from the client using RAD Controls for some reason doesn't pass the user credentials. Because of this asmx files put under locations where authentication is required wouldn't work. Let me know if it is right.

Hi Mat,

We were unable to reproduce the issue you are experiencing - using an .asmx file from the _vti_bin folder seems to work as expected. Can you please open a support ticket and send us a sample project so we can debug it locally?

The reason for this is some settings within IIS7 for the _vti_bin folder. You can find out more about it at
