I'm not a style guy, I'm a database developer, but I've had some requests to modify the "Simple" style in the system I'm working on.
I found the Visual Style Builder and think it's quite interesting and was able to do just about everything I've wanted except for one thing.
My menu that I'm using is vertical. The user wants the arrow on the root menu when there is sub menus. I played around with the Style Builder and was able to get the arrow showing, but only when the menu is horizontal. if the menu is vertical, it doesn't show.
Any idea as to why this is? Is it something I can fix? If necessary, I can get my current project in a place you can view it, if that helps.

Hi Chris,
Since the vertical menu has been previously proposed, I've added it to the style builder. Adding the arrow is a rather cumbersome process at the moment, so please open a support ticket and send me an image of the look that you are trying to achieve (your custom skin will help, too). I'll strive to make the process easier in the future.

Is there a general solution to this problem? We are also using vertical menu and require a arrow on the root item.
Will we also need to send our custom skin and open a ticket? Or is there any post which explains this.

Hello Vaibhav,
The root expandable styles for vertical root items have already been implemented in Visual Style Builder. In your case though you probably only need to change the background-position of the root expandable items to show the arrow which already is embedded in the sprite. For the Black skin this is 100% -240px; In other skins you may need first to download the image from the expandable sub items and then upload it for the expandable root items and set the same background-position.
