This is almost certainly possible, but having spent a couple of hours with the docs I cannot see easily how to do it.

I am investigating replacing another scheduler with RadScheduler.  I need to use my own data entry forms for each event rather than the built in in-place or template edit forms.

Could you point me in the direction of how to do this?  I have searched the resources but cannot find anything quite appropriate.

Ideally I would like a solution like the one that shows how to use RadWindow to edit a record from RadGrid, which I use all the time.  Something similar to this would be great, if available, otherwise some pointers on where to start.

Hi David,

Thank you for your interest in RadScheduler. Actually, we have an online example which shows how to do this:

External Edit in RadWindow.

Feel free to contact us if you have further questions.

Hi,
could you please package this demo up as a zip project and send it to me. (C#) please, I have seen the demo and there seems to be and advanced aspx form but I can only see the .cs code fro this and no aspx.

thanks

Neil

Hello,

This example is available for download from our site. It is part of our quickstart framework and it comes with the Prometheus distribution.

Hello,
Do you have an example of an external window that edits appointments with recurrences?  Also can you send the rules or documentation on how the recurrences are saved and what the information means?

Thanks,
Derek Higgs

Hi Derek,

Currently, we don't have an example with external window and recurrences, but we plan to implement the necessary features for RadScheduler which will allow easy implementation of this scenario. Also, we will extend the online example to include recurrences.

Here are the online resources related to recurrence:

The recurrence engine

How to display all RadScheduler appointments in GridView

Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Best wishes,

Is there an example for this yet?

I am using an advanced insert/edit radwindow for my scheduler.  When I "edit" an appointment WITH RECURRENCE I get confused. Please do you have an example?

Hello Robert,

The External Edit in RadWindow example will be modified and RadWindow will be replaced by RadDock for Q2 2008. However, we will try to make this example as simple as possible and support for recurrences will not be included. You will have to implement this functionality manually using the Customizing the Advanced Template
online example. The user control which implements the recurrence functionality is SchedulerDefaultForm.ascx.
