I am currently using the radMenu .Net2 ver 4.4.4 in a SharePoint (MOSS 2007) application. We also use the radEditor in all of our SharePoint applications.
Is it true that in order to upgrade one of these controls, I will need to upgrade both of them since the current RadControls for ASP .NET AJAX is a single .dll install?

Also, does my current radMenu control support semi-transparent drop-down sub menus?

Thanks,
John

Hi John Way,

Indeed RadMenu and RadEditor for ASP.NET Ajax reside in the same assembly (Telerik.Web.UI.dll). However you can upgrade only the menu - you can continue using the older RadEditor if you don't need to upgrade it too. We support side-by-side runnning of RadMenu for ASP.NET Ajax and RadEditor Classic.

Unfortunately RadMenu does not support semi-transparent dropdowns (both the Classic and new version).

Thank you for your quick reply.

I did find this KB article, http://www.telerik.com/support/kb/aspnet-ajax/general/adding-png-alpha-transparency-support-for-internet-explorer-without-scripting.aspx and was wondering if this information is still recommended to achieve transparent drop-down menus. If this is still valid information, please send me a working link for the video under item 2, "Add PNG Support for Microsoft IIS".

Thanks,
John

Hi John Way,

This workaround will not work for RadMenu unfortunately due to the specific implementation of RadMenu. It would work only for two level of menu items - first level (root) and second level (child). Other menu levels will not appear in internet explorer at all.
