Why am I having difficulty finding the upgrade instructions? They don't seem to be posted anywhere obvious. Please don't tell me where to find them...add a link. I see other threads where you tell someone where to find upgrade instructions but then still cannot find these elusive instructions! Trying to go from Q3 2007 to Q1 2008 AJAX. Also, your left navigation menu is not wide enough...or you need to condense your type or think of shorter wording. You cannot read the full name of the menu iem in your Browse Forum section.

The main difference which causes migration problems is in the client-side API. There are special sections in the online help which shows the new methods' names and every control has a separate section for this migration. The RadAjax migration section is here and for all other controls it is in Controls/<Control Name>/Overview section, e.g for RadWindow you should see Controls/RadWindow/Overview/Migration from RadWindow Classic to RadWindow Prometheus.
I am not quite sure whether you migrate from Q3 2007 for ASP.NET or from Q3 2007 for ASP.NET AJAX. In case you want to migrate from non ajax controls to the ajax ones you should also change your Web.config file so your project uses ASP.NET AJAX.

I am just looking to upgrade Visual Studio to the newest version. Do i add/remove the program and install the latest version? I don't want to try and upgrade the actual applications right now. Is that possible? How do I tell what version of your software I am running.

I suggest you to try the following:
- Completely uninstall the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX from your computer by selecting Start/Programs/Telerik/RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX/Uninstall RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX. Please, note that if you have the non ajax suite of RadControls for ASP.NET it is not necessary to uninstall it, too. You should uninstall only the suite you want to upgrade to.
- Run the .exe installation file and follow the steps in the installation wizard.
- The controls should be installed on your machine.
Please, note that you will have them automatically added to the VS Toolbox if you use VS2005 with .NET 2.0 or VS 2008 with .NET 3.5. In case you use VS 2008 with .NET 2.0 or 3.0 you should manually add them to the toolbox as explained here.
As to your other question, about the version of the controls it is the version of the dll file. To check it you should browse to C:\Program Files\Telerik\RadControls for ASPNET AJAX Q1 2008\Bin, right click the Telerik.Web.UI.dll file, choose Properties from the context menu and you will see its version.

I suppose my confusion is a result of your naming conventions. RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX was your BETA "Prometheus" product, whereas RadControls for ASP.NET Q3 2007 sp1 was something entirely different. You choices in product naming are very confusing to someone who is new to programming in general and to someone who expects there to be a greater disticntion between products. Again your menu on your right navigation makes it nearly impossible to determine which product you are selecting or that their is even anything different about each product line.

- Completely uninstall the RadControls if you want to upgrade to the same suite. This means that if you want to upgrade from RadControls for ASP.NET to a later version of RadControls for ASP.NET you should first uninstall them. The same should be done if you want to upgrade from RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX to a later version of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX. You can uninstall the controls from Start/Programs/Telerik/RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX/Uninstall RadControls. If you have RadControls for ASP.NET and you want to have RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX uninstalling is not necessary.
- Install the new RadControls from the .exe file and follow the installation wizard's steps.
- If you want to use RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and you have not used them and you do not use .NET 3.5 with VS2008 you should download ASP.NET AJAX Extensions 1.0 from here.
In case you need further assistance, please explain in details what exactly you have on your machine, what you have already done in order to upgrade and what version of which suite you want to have.

So as a user of RadControl ASP.NET do I get access to RadControl ASP.NET AJAX? I was able to download Prometheus but do not see a download option for RadControl ASP.NET AJAX.
