Is there any support provided for UpdateHistory / AnimatedUpdatePanel?

http://www.nikhilk.net/UpdateControls.aspx

Is there a kb article how they can be plugged in rad Ajax Prometheus?

Hi Johan,

Generally UpdateHistory will be supported in Prometheus exactly in the same way as in any other ASP.NET AJAX components. We are trying to provide ajax history using a bit different approach and to know more about this you can try attached application.

Vlad,

I tried incorporating your example into an application I'm working on.  But I get the following exception when I try to run the page:

Error Type:System.NullReferenceExceptionError Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Error Source: Telerik.Web.UI
Error Target Site: Telerik.Web.UI.OurUpdatePanel GetUpdatePanel(System.Web.UI.Control)

I realize this isn't released yet, but if you know of a quick fix, it would be great to be able to use this.

Thanks,

Mike

Weird, the project is working for me (in the sense that I do not get this error exception). Maybe this is related to some temporary cache... problem?

However, I've found that the feature does not work reliably in FireFox for example. If you start the page, and use the mouse to select Page 2, then 3 and then 4 - pressing backspace gets you directly to page 1. In Explorer it works fine, but is limited to page 2 (does not go to Page 1). Also, at some point in FireFox pressing backspace has no effect, but this happens intermittently and I have no idea for the steps to reproduce (will follow up later if I am able to get a pattern).

By the way - this feature is potentially huge, since it is not supported by MS AJAX out of the box and using the UpdateHistory control may be difficult (and is not officially supported by Microsoft)! I know it is very difficult to provide support out of the box with a single property - hopefully you will be able to do so in the official release.

Hello Mike,

Actually this approach will work only for IE (in its current version) as mentioned in the help as well. We hope, that we will be able to figure out a workaround for Firefox as well, as it will be quite desirable from clients.
