Previously i was able to use a full width toolbar width a small editorarea as long as I used the ToolbarMode ShowOnFocus. This does not seem to work anymore as the toolbar does not expand beyond the widthproperty of the area.

Is this still possible? If not, could i use client serialization to save the width of a toolbar resized by an editor (end-user)?

Hi Rasmus,

Indeed, you are correct.

Currently, the new version of RadEditor does not offer the ToolsWidth property and it is not possible to achieve the required toolbar functionality. Nevertheless, I logged your Feature request in our to-do list and we will implement it in one of the upcoming updates of the editor.

We do appreciate your feedback and we updated your Telerik points.

Best regards,

Same problem. As it stands the editor won't work for small rich text areas it's blows the SharePoint page layout apart. This is a major issue for my purposes.

For publishing scenarios it would be much better if the width and height of the editor respected the width of the area's placeholder as the out of the box editor does.

I haven't yet managed to get the auto resize height property to work.

Hello,

Are you using the publishing feature on your site or have you replaced the original editor using SharePont designer? You should be able to set the field's DisplayWidth and DisplayHeight properties to control the editor size. For example:

<telerik:RadHtmlField id="Content" FieldName="PublishingPageContent"
  runat="server" DisplayWidth="200px" DisplayHeight="140px"/>

The above definition will make the editor small and the toolbar will still be rendered normally (see attached screenshot).

All the best,
