[Solved] TimelineView Questions

Hello,

I have been working with the TimelineView of the latest RadScheduler (Q1 2008 SP1) and had a few questions:

1. Is it possible to set the HeaderDateFormat, the one that appears in the header between the NavigationPane and ViewTabs differently that the slot headers? I see the ability to set that for each of the other Views (Day, Week & Month). Specifically, I am displaying 12 slots of 1 hour intervals (12 hour day from 8am to 8 pm) and I would like to be able to show the date along with the time in the main TimelineHeader. Because if I start navigating, I have no idea what day I am on after a while. Currently the TimelineView-HeaderDateFormat effects both the main header and the slot headers.
2. Is it possible to overlap/overlay appointments? If I am have two appointments, say 9a-5p and 4p-6p to have them overlap each other and not one on top of the other?

Hi Paige Cook,

We completely agree about the first suggestion. We will include another property as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, overlapping appointments is not supported with our current rendering.

We are planning a revision to the HTML structure of the control to include features like horizontal scrolling and we will also consider implementing appointment overlapping. Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you for the reply. In regards to the horizontal scrolling, it would be great if it could support navigation within the scrolling as well. Something similar the Yahoo style scrolling on the RadGrid Scrolling Demos.  That would be very cool functionality.

Hello Paige,

Thank your suggestion, again. Such virtual scrolling makes a lot of sense indeed. The bad news is that it depends on client-side rendering. In fact, we think that this is the one feature that makes the client-side rendering really useful. We will definitely focus on this feature once we have all the prerequisites in place.
