hi

Recently, I downloaded the trial version of ASP.net Ajax 2007 Q3 SP2 and I tried some on the controls.

I like the tutorial that tells you to copy the skins in the RADControl folder to the  project directory. But i copy to App_Themes folder and I change the skinpath of the control to App_Themes folder.

One thing i like about this old  method is that i can just change the CSS and save and refresh my web app and that I would immediately reflect the changes.

Now, I just bought the ASP.net Ajax 2008 Q1 and it seems that all has changes and I am totally lost.

How do I copy some of the skins into the App_Themes and make changes to some of the CSS in 2008 Q1 like those in 2007 Q3 SP2? Thanks

Hello Lui Nai Wah,

The RadControls folder and SkinsPath property are used in the "classic" RadControls for ASP.NET, not in RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX. Is it possible that you are reading the wrong documentation?

Setting custom skin paths and using customized skins in RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX (formerly known as Prometheus) is even more flexible than in the classic RadControls for ASP.NET.

Please refer to the following help topics for more information.

hi

I did what you have directed me to. I have set the EnableEmbeddedSkins is set to false and I have also  the  copy a css file to a css folder in my app directory and modified menu.black.css. I then manually drag the modified css to the page for registration and I set the skin property of menu to black.

The strange thing is that at design mode, the effect, the black background color of the menu was not shown. It is all white, but when I preview in browser, it works fine. Have I missed out anything? Thanks

Hello Lui Nai Wah,

Unfortunately, we couldn't reproduce the issue that you are experiencing - could you be more specific about the Visual Studio version that you use (or, it would be best if you open a support ticket and send us a sample project that demonstrates the issue). We tried to reproduce the problem using the project that I'm attaching - if you like, you could compare it to yours.

Greetings,
