I have a bit of a weird problem here. Everytime I go into Client.net -> My Client.net, IE crashes.

This happens on 2/3 of the tested computers. All 3 computers that it happens on have been recently upgraded, and windows XP reinstalled.

Both problem PC's have had the OS reinstalled but to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Oh and I posted it here because I could not find a place to post about the site, and I gather it is one of the controls doing it.

Well, I found the problem.

Apparently if run activeX controls is not checked, the ajax crashes IE.

Well done Microsoft.... what is really intresting is that on some installs it was enabled, and others it wasn't and exactly the same thing was done to the computers...

Interesting problem. Thanks for reporting your work-around Matthew. I'm sure that will be helpful for others that run in to this IE problem.

I have tried to reproduce the problem with IE8 running in IE7 mode, but was unable. Ajax still worked with "Run ActiveX" controls disabled. One thing to note, as of IE7, Ajax support should be native to the browser (not requiring ActiveX to work). For that to be the case, though, the "Enable Native XMLHTTP support" IE security setting does need to be checked. You may want to also check that setting your computers to ensure everything is configured correctly.

Hope that helps.
