Hi there

Unfortunately we are still using the older versions of your products, specifically the .Net 2.0 pre Telerik.Web.UI release where every component (e.g. Grid, Calendar etc) has it's own dedicated assembly.

We recently attempted to solve a problem using the tools at hand (client restraints prevent us from upgrading) but found absolutely no documentation on the tools.

I understand that they are very old now but it's nigh on impossible to figure out the client side events/actions for standard controls such as RadCalendar/RadGrid without this documentation (or being a psychic!). As a result of this, could it be possible to make a link available or at least a download link to the CHM for us people that are still working in the stone age :) ?

Many thanks in advance!!

Hope to hear from you soon

A.

Hello,

I have found CHM files for the Grid and Calendar controls from the RadControls for ASP.NET Classic controls and I am attaching them here for your convenience. We have not been supporting this suite for several years and such resources are taken down to avoid confusion. Should you need them, you can open a ticket and we will do our best to help.

Hello Terrina,

As I explained in my previous post, this is documentation for software that has been obsolete for about 6-7 years at the time of writing and such documentation should not be expected to persist and cause confusion.

If you are still using the obsolete "Classic" suite, I strongly advise you upgrade to the current suite.

As for getting documentation for the old software—it should be available in your installation. Otherwise, open a support ticket and we will see what we can do for you.

So you are forcing people to upgrade by removing the documentation you hosted? At least provide a pdf link or a zip of all the html pages. It's not that hard for you to do this and this is clearly an upgrade push.

Hello,

As we already explained the Classic version of the Telerik Web Forms components is discontinued for almost a decade (since 2009).

We do recommend, but we are not forcing anyone to upgrade to Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX, because the Classic suite does not expose any built-in time errors and limitations and also the documentation is available in the installations of the Classic controls. That's why everyone who still uses the Classic controls has an option to continue using them.

If someone wants to receive an offline version of the documentation for a specific classic component, he/she can do that by opening a support ticket from the support ticketing system and specifying the name and version of the used classic component.

Best regards,
Rumen

Then upload the old documentation on GitHub and call it a a day. Stop making more work for your self by making us open tickets to get documentation that has worked for over a decade now. I wish my customers would upgrade but you they font have plans on doing this anytime soon. You are seriously making this a nightmare to deal with and my current and future customers will now that you purposely delete documentation.

Hi,

We firmly believe (mostly because we saw it happen) that keeping the documentation for the obsolete suite live causes confusion with our current customers. We need to ensure they can easily find what they are looking for and to this end, we removed the public access to the documentation for the suite that was made obsolete almost a decade ago.

People who have licenses for this old suite can still access its files in their account and download the respective documentation.

As a courtesy to you, I created a ticket in your account and I will be looking forward to receiving information on which controls and which version you need.

Okay guys but what to do people who use old Telerik Mvc Extension for ASP.NET MVC library. It's in public access as nuget package but I can't get any documentation for it now. Actually it was public about 6 month ago or so, but not now.

Hi guys,

I am supporting an old platform built using the old TelerikMvcExtensions.2013.2.611.

From the messages chain above seems that you provided the documentation to the frustrated guy :-)

I am kindly asking for your help.

Thank you in advance and best regards,

Milko

Hi Alexander, Milko,

This thread was originally for the UI for ASP.NET AJAX suite (formerly known as RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX). The product you are using is called Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC and has been deprecated in 2013. Its successor is the UI for ASP.NET MVC suite that is based on the Kendo UI for jQuery widgets.

That said, I managed to find a .chm for the obsolete MVC extensions and I am attaching it here. I hope it helps you.
