Hi Richard,
Another customer experienced this problem and he solved it by rebooting his machine, then in VS design mode he added the spell check handler by using the control's smart tag menu.
If you still experience this problem after trying this steps, please open a support ticket and send a sample working project that demonstrates the problem. I will examine it and do my best to provide a solution.
