Being an ex Infragistics customer I must say that I am very happy to have switched camp and joined Telerik. However I do miss IG's styling application for ASP.NET. It allowed me to create my own skins quite easily and share it amongst the community. With Telerik I have to manually go through the css files and attempt to change it there. Is there any chance that you guys will release a viusal tool to help customise the styles of your ASP.NET controls?

Hello Michael,

Thank you for the good words on our controls. I am glad to hear that the switch from the other company to Telerik went very well for you.

We have received several suggestions for a similar styling app and we are currently researching the opportunity. We would love to hear your feedback on what you liked/disliked in this tool - please share your experience.

Any feedback from people interested in a styling app for ASP.NET AJAX controls is very welcome.

Regards,
Ivo

To be honest the IG styling app was fantastic. The only slight drawback was the fact that you could not style anything else other than native IG controls. For instance I wanted to also style the native ASP.NET controls as well as the IG controls. What was also great about the application was that I could package the skin and share it amongst others in the community. It also allowed me to create mulitiple skins for my application and effortlessy switch between them (better than the native Themes approach).

Being a visual tool I was able to give it to my designer who would go off and skin all IG controls, she would then send the skin files back to me.

I think this would help other people in the forum where they just wanted to change a single style element (like font) and had to go through the whole custom styling procedure to get this done. A styling app would have been sufficient as they would simply open up an existing file, alter just the font parts, save it and it would automatically be applied to all relevant controls

This level of innovation and collaboration was very cool. This I think is where IG got it right. If only the rest of their toolset was as good.
