Hi Sonic,

This is a known bug in Google Chrome and it is fixed in the latest internal build of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

For your convenience I have attached the trial build of Telerik.Web.UI_2008_2_905 which fixes the $0 problem.

The problem will not exist in the next SP2 update of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Q2 2008.

Kind regards,

Hello,

We have not upgraded to Ajax version of Telerik editor. Is there any fix for the old version of Telerik editor to work in Google Chrome?

Happy Holidays.

thanks,
Gomathi

Hi Gomez,

Yes, the latest available download for RadEditor Classic should address this Chrome problem. Did you give this one a try?

Thanks Tervel. We are using Q2 2008. What files are changed for Google Chrome support? We have some customization in the editor code. So, I would appreciate if we know if javascript files or cs files are modified to fix this issue. It would be easier for us to upgrade the changes for this issue.

thanks,
Gomathi

Hello Gomez,

The file that should have been changed is OriginalScripts/radEditor_FiltersManager.js.
The Chrome problem was caused by differences in the regular expression engine of Chrome compared to all other browsers.

Best wishes,

We are using Telerik version 2008.2.723.20 and we are getting the same issue in the rad editor converting line breaks into $0 with users using the newest Safari Beta version. Is this a known issue and is there a fix? thanks, any help is appreciated.

Hello Calvin,

The problem is a change (or rather, a bug) that exists in the latest WebKit release which is currently used by Safari. The problem was first manifested in the original Chromre release several months ago - because Chrome uses WebKit as well - and it started off with using the latest version right then.

As Chrome was released, we provided a fix/workaround for this problem. Hence, the best option for you would be to upgrade to a more recent Telerik.Web.UI version.

If for some reason this is not an option, then you will need to disable the ConvertToXhtml editor content filter. Content filters are discussed in the following online demo:
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/editor/examples/builtincontentfilters/defaultcs.aspx
