Is there an example/explaination for setting up a Treeview with...

Any suggestions/guidance would be appreciated

Hi Tony,
1. I have found a forum link regarding Filtering with TreeView.
filtering a giant tree?
2. Here is a Code Libaray submission regarding Sorting with radTreeView.
Sorting rad TreeView after databinding
Thanks
Princy.

Your help is appreciated Princy
Having previously searched the docs & forum before posting I'm now disappointed that some clever developer hasn't solved my "dilemma" <g>
I had hoped that RADTreeview would have had a built-in capability for Filtering - Sorting - Grouping with databinding.
Perhaps it's something that is coming in a later release or maybe Telerik are waiting for a suggestion.

Hi Tony Moriarty,
RadTreeView does not support a built-in sorting mechanism. We decided to drop it as we could not predict all the sorting scenarios our customers would require. We hope that this is not a major show-stopper for you.
All the best,

Thanks Nick your reply is appreciated.
Not being able to Sort isn't a show stopper BUT not being able to Filter is.
I had hoped to see an example where a user could simply click a check box/radio button or click/type in a FILTER keyword & see his RADTreeview selection from a Database drop down on the screen before him. JUST like with a GRID<g>
Any suggestions/guidance would help me.

Hi Tony Moriarty,
What about filtering the database upon the button click and then rebinding the treeview to the already filtered data?
Kind regards,
Nick

Thanks Nick...a good suggestion.
Ideally users would be able to apply three filters...from three dropdown lists of keywords to the database...& see a RADTreeview of their "search"
Any thoughts/comments would be most useful

Hello Tony Moriarty,
You could then hook on the SelectedIndexChanged event of the dropdowns and update the datasource in the event handlers. After all the criteria has been entered you can rebind the treeview.
