Hi,

We are building a site using sitefinity.

We store all the user credentials and access rights in SAP currently, how can I use it with new sitefinity site, so that we do not have to create new users in sitefinity and provide them permissions to view pages/content and the existing users can login to sitefinity site and access the site according to their defined permissions in SAP.

Can I please get a starting guidance on this?

Thank you,
Jay Mehta.

Hello Jay Mehta,

Sitefinity can work with standard ASP.NET Membership, Role, Profile and Active Directory providers. If you use some other way to validate and store user credentials you need to create mapping tool and port the users in Sitefinity providers.

Hi Ivan,

Can you please explain more "what is mapping tool?".I really appreciate, if you can provide some code snippet to authenticate sitefinity site  against SAP using Mapping Tool.

Thank You.

Hello Jay,

You can take a look at this forum post where I have a similar discussion. You need a custom Membership provider.
