Hello Sachin,

Thank you for your feature request.

Unfortunately, this user friendly feature could not be implemented in RadEditor, because the Html and Design modes are two different IFRAME elements (documents) and during the switch from Design to Html mode the selection is automatically lost.
In addition, the content is parsed by the editor's content filters to make it valid XHTML. This process modifies the content and it is not possible to programmatically restore the selection.

By the way, have you by any chance seen a DHTML web editor that supports this feature?

You can use the Real Time HTML View module as an HTML editor in Design mode, but it will not show the selection in the Design mode, because it is not possible to have two selections at the same time in the browser. You should click in the content area to enable the modules and populate them with content.

Best regards,
Rumen

The requested functionality is not available in the latest Q3 2010 SP2 version of RadEditor and is not planned for the upcoming Q1 and Q2 2011 versions of RadEditor.

I just wanted to check quickly to see if this feature has been added or is being considered in the product roadmap. It sounds like it's dead, but I wanted to confirm.

Hi,

After detailed research of the requested functionality, it appeared that it cannot be implemented in a properly working way and without side effects. That is why we discontinued its implementation.

Kind regards,
Rumen
