Hi,

I am planning to purchase the Telerik ASP.NET Ajax suite but was not sure whether to buy the $999 one which offers free 1 year upgrades or to buy the $799 one which is the same except for the 1 year upgrade part.

For me to decide this I would like to know what features are coming in next 1 year.

Can anyone help.

Thanks,
- Manoj

Hi Manoj,

The public Q3 2011 roadmap for our ASP.NET AJAX controls will be updated in the upcoming weeks and published on the site. There you will be able see what are the new things we are planning for the next major release of the suite. Note, however, that due to the dynamic and constantly evolving software environment, we are unable to commit to a specific global roadmap spanning an entire year.

Kind regards,
Sebastian

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. But for it to more of more help to me I would like more details e.g.

- Can you be more specific about when the Q3 2011 roadmap would come- coming in upcoming weeks is very generic. Now that Q2 2011 is out I would imagine that there is already a roadmap for Q3..

- I agree that the software enviornment is very dynamic to have a 1year plan but knowing some general direction would help e.g. more of HTML5 etc..

Thanks,
- Manoj

Hi Manoj,

The AJAX roadmap will be out later today or tomorrow at the latest - please stand by for it.

What I can say at this point about the HTML5 support is that we plan to support HTML5 input types for our RadInput controls (date, numeric, etc.) for the next Q3 2011 release. We already integrated drag-and-drop upload and native progress monitoring for RadAsyncUpload under browsers which do support this HTML5 feature, and we will consider HTML5 Canvas support for our image editor for a future version (post Q3 2011).

Best regards,
Sebastian
