I just installed RadControls "Prometheus" for ASP.NET and there is no toolbar control.  Why is that?

I don't think it's been migrated over yet.  There are a couple of controls that still have to be converted, like the Toolbar, Panelbar, etc.

Probably a release next quarter, since I think Prometheus is supposed to be out of "beta" in March.

Yes Seth, Chris is right. We haven't migrated some of the controls yet (RadTabStrip, RadPanelBar, RadToolbar, RadRotator). We are going to do so for Q1 2008 release.

Thanks for your patience,
Paul

Is there currently a rough time table for the futures release of any of these controls?  I'm particularly interested in the rotator.

Hi Shaun Peet,

The official product roadmap is the place to check when looking for a release date. If one is made official it will be there.

Best wishes,

I've been checking it and there's nothing there.  Not looking for a specific date, just a rough timeline (ie. the order in which the controls are being migrated).  I've got a project that uses 13 controls, and the only one left to migrate is the rotator so that's why I'm just a little bit curious.  This one project is used for 10 different websites (and growing) so doing the migration becomes increasingly difficult as time goes by.  Don't take that as a complaint - I'm just letting you guys know where I'm coming from so you can understand why I asked the question in the first place.

Hi Shaun,

RadRotator will be migrated for Q2 2008 (mid 2008).

Ok, so here's a question then.  I am using many of the controls in the RadControls for ASP.NET but I need to use the TreeView from Prometheus.  If I buy the Prometheus control kit, do I get the controls from the ASP.NET kit since a number of the controls are missing from Prometheus?

Hello Seth,

When you buy an ASP.NET Subscription (or the .NET Subscription which includes our WinForms and Reporting products too) you get the Prometheus controls free of charge. You can then decide which ASP.NET and Prometheus controls you would like to use. You also get updates for both product lines and as soon as new Prometheus controls appear, you will have those in your account.

Sincerely yours,
Nick
