Hi.

We've been using Telerik in one of our applications with a Danish client. We've found some unusual behaviours particularly with the RadInput controls.

Using the RadNumeric input controls, for example, when we enter a value of 1000000, make a postback and then click on the Back button of the browser, the displayed value becomes 1. We can't figure out why the trailing zeroes were trimmed from the control. After focusing again on the control with the mouse or keyboard, the original value of 1000000 will be displayed. This happens on IE and Firefox. We find it kind of a weird behaviour.

Another thing is when the Culture of a RadNumeric control is set to Danish (Denmark), the delete key does not work on Opera 9x but works well in IE and Firefox.

Are there any solutions to this? Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

Hi Ely,

I tried to reproduce the problem locally, but to no avail. Can you please check the attached project and the movie and let me know if I am missing something?

Kind regards,

Hi again!

I've tried your demo and the problem shows in our machines. You can view the screen capture from this link: RadNumericProblem.zip.

By the way, we are using Visual Studio 2008 and both RadControls for ASP.NET Q2 2007 and RadControls for ASPNET AJAX Q1 2008. We use the Q1 2008 version in our projects. Interestingly, the problem not only occurs on our development machines but also when deployed to our test servers.

Thanks again.

Hi jack,

I assume you just use an older version of Telerik.Web.UI which causes the problem. Please, give the latest version 2008.2.1001 a try and let us know if you need further help.

Hi Plamen,

After updating our project to use version 2008.2.1001 the browser back button now works as expected in both IE and Opera. However, the problem still occurs in Firefox but instead of truncating the zeroes the entire value disappears from all radnumeric inputs.

Regarding the delete button in Opera, it still does not work in 2008.2.1001 . Somehow, the delete button is treated as an invalid user input when the culture is set to Danish (Denmark).

Ely
