Hi,

In our project we have problems with slow horizontal scrolling in Mozilla Firefox. It can easily be reproduced on your demo site (with Firefox):

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/functionality/scrolling/scrolling/defaultcs.aspx

Steps to reproduce:

1. Turn off "Enable\Disable Frozen Columns"
2. Make sure that Use static headers and footers are turned on
3. Click on horizontal scroll-bar just to the left of the right scroll arrow (just above the 2 in '91 items in 2 pages, when page size is 50)
4. Scroll thumb is heading toward mouse position but it is very slow

This issue doesn't occur on Chrome. Also everything works properly on Firefox when Frozen Columns are enabled or static headers and footers are disabled.

Our customers require to have static headers so it is not possible to turn them off.

Do you have a solution or workaround for this issue?

Hello Jan,

I tried to replicate the issue by following the provided steps, but to no avail. Could you please send a video which demonstrates how to replicate the issue as I am sure I miss some step?

Find attached 2 screenrecordings:

In Chrome scrolling is very fast
In Firefox it scrolls slower, but more important, not in a smooth way

Hello Jan,

I was able to replicate the issue, but I am afraid that it is a browser behavior and it is not related with our controls. One of our developers let me know that this issue has been observed in the last few versions of FireFox and I hope that its developers will fix it.

Hello,

I understand that this behavior is browser related, but it still does not explain why the scroll works correctly when frozen columns are enabled.

Please, try to scroll in the same way that can be seen in attached files but with frozen columns enabled. Scroll works smooth and fast.

It is only my guess but maybe you are applying some additional scripts for frozen columns that prevent this unexpected behavior?

FYI scrolling works slow also on IE but not on Chrome or Opera.

Hi Jan,

Note that when frozen columns are enabled the scroll which is displayed is fake and we execute a JavaScript function when the buttons of the scroll is clicked. Basically we are not use the default behavior of the browser scroll.
