Hello,

one more thing regarding RadEditor in Opera. When switched to fullscreen mode, the editor scrolls whole page instead of editor content (maybe Opera problem? I had similiar issues with fulscreen google maps which were scrollable), however when user clicks on HTML tab the fullscreen mode is lost and editor'ssize is preserved, with it's half somewhere out of the window.

Again this can be easily reproduced at Telerik's Editor demo site and Opera 10.53.

With this behavior the editor is not usable under Opera. Please help.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert,

Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. I have logged it in our PITS system and we will do our best to fix it for one of the upcoming releases. You can follow the PITS Issue by its ID: 2300.

As a small token of gratitude I have updated your Telerik points.

Sincerely yours,

Hi Dobromir,
thanks for reply. Hope it will be fixed soon.

I have one more question regarding scrolling in fullscreen mode. It seems that Opera scrolls whole page not only the active region. Is there any know way how to workaround this?
According to what I found, when RadEditor in fullscreen, Opera first scrolls the active region (editor content area) and then scrolls the whole page, on the other hand IE7/8 scrolls only the active region.

It seems you use some mechanism to disable scrolling the whole page when RadEditor in fullscreen mode, which doesn't work for Opera?

This way it's really frustrating for users with Opera to work in fullscreen mode. You can't scroll to much way down, because the toolbar disappears and since Opera doesn't show scrollbar for whole page while being in this mode, it's difficult to place Editor back to it's original position.

Best regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,

The full page scrolling is standard browser behavior, which is handled by RadEditor. This problem looks like a browser bug. Unfortunately, at present, I am unable to provide you a suitable workaround for this behavior.

We will investigate this problem further, and will I will write back to you when I have more information.

Best wishes,

Hi,

just checked the state of this issue and after 10 months it is still reproducible on Opera v11 and your demo page.

Just wondering how you can claim your controls have cross browser support when they don't: http://www.telerik.com/products/aspnet-ajax/getting-started/browser-support.aspx

checked DevExpress and their editor works just fine in the same scenario: http://demos.devexpress.com/ASPxHTMLEditorDemos/Features/General.aspx

so I'm seriously considering to switch to competition.

Best regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. The Opera issue was recognized as a bug by their team so we decided to wait for a fix from them. It seems there is still no fix so we will modify the RadEditor code to handle it. The fix will be included in the next service pack release of the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and the next internal build as well (about a week from now).

Best wishes,
