I had radEditor working fine (the latest version) on my site, then I upgraded to DNN 5.0 and now I get the following error:

A critical error has occurred.
The control with ID 'RadEditorDNN' requires a ScriptManager on the page. The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it.

Where would I put the ScriptManager tag in DNN?

Hi Jerry,

Such problem was reported by another customer of ours and we are still working on it. The problem will be fixed for sure for SP1 that will appear in mid January and if we find a solution that could be applied to the current version of the editor, we will post it in the forum as soon as possible.

That's not the issue I am having. The module doesn't install in DNN 5.0. What I did is install the module in DNN 4.9 and copy the files and edit web.config.

@Abdu, I also tried to install RadEditor to DotNetNuke 5.0.0 but i was unable to do it. I saw a few issues during installation.

e.g Resources zip file couldn't be find by installation utility of dnn.

Would you please update this topic when new fix/release available. (I'm going to track this topic).

I also plan to update Turkish Localization resources for RadEditor.

Regards.

Because this is only an issue during installation which is just DNN unzipping files and copying them to certain folders, my workaround was to copy the related files from a 4.9 installation to the 5..0 installation and edit 5.0's web.config telerik's info to match 4.9's.

I am sure you can do the same with the Turkish one.

In my dev environment i haven't any 4.9 installed yet. So i need to install it first then install radeditor to it. After that porting files and web.config structure should help like you advised.

Thanks.

Creadit goes to users' post at this topic.

Hi guys,

I did some tests with DNN 5.0 and I was able to get the Telerik modules package to install without problems by making a few modifications to the .dnn manifest file. I am attaching the updated file here. What you need to do is replace the .dnn file in the Telerik.DNN.Modules_2008_3_1125 archive and install it.

Unfortunately the modified .dnn file does not work in DNN 4.x, because the two versions seem to handle file locations differently. We will provide official support for DNN 5.0 in next week's RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX service pack release.
