I am working on project that uses ASp.Net 1.1 but planning to upgrade to 3,5 soon. What version or RadControl should I get?

Hello Ahmed,

We recommend using the ASP.NET AJAX versions of our controls for any new development. Here is more information about the components from our ASP.NET AJAX suite:

Thanks Steve,

Sorry, I am new to .NET. So if I ordered AJAX I can use with 1.1 and I in the future I will be able to use it when upgrading to 3.5? Currntly, I inherted this project that uses ComoBox  1.1 but in 6 months I am planning to upgrade to 3.5.

Hi Ahmed,

I was not able to find a ComoBox license registered in your ahmed_zayan@Hotmail.com Client.net account. Could you please let us know the acount to which your license is registered so that we can advise you on upgrade options.

Hi Ahmed,

Thank you for the follow-up.

RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX work on ASP.NET 3.5 (as well as on 2.x) and you are welcome to purchase the latest version of our ASP.NET AJAX controls (version Q2 2008) and migrate your existing project to the ASP.NET AJAX controls at your convenience.

Please, note that RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX are not backwards compatible with RadControls for ASP.NET. While for some products, such as RadAjax, the transition is going to be painless (see RadAjax for ASP.NET vs RadAjax for ASP.NET AJAX), for other products, the migration will be more difficult due to the new architecture, use of single assembly, new API, and other changes introduced in RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

For every control we have a help topic dedicated to the upgrade from ASP.NET to ASP.NET AJAX version and the changes in the respective APIs.  For example, this is the topic for RadGrid:
http://www.telerik.com/help/radcontrols/prometheus/?grdMigrationToPrometheus.html

I would recommend that you opt for the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Developer license with subscription and source code, list price $999/developer. The subscription license comes with free version updates and Gold support(24h guaranteed response time, Mo-Fri) for 1 year. In addition, as the title suggests, the license offers access to the full C# and JavaScript source code.

I hope the provided information was helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
