[Solved] Prometheus and Asp.net Ajax

We are currently evaluating Telerik asp.net controls and need some clarification with web farm support. To my understanding Prometheus is built on Asp.net Ajax. We have had issues with gettig Asp.net Ajax controls to run on our web farm due to issues with the machine key and viewstate we have tried all recommended solutions without success but are using controls built with prototype and jquery ajax. Will this be an issue with the Teleik Prometheus controls and/or Asp.net controls?

Hello Developer,

RadControls "Prometheus" are build over the ASP.NET AJAX framework and take full advantage of its model and capabilities. Unfortunately it seems that there are some issues with ASP.NET AJAX, web farms and machine keys, however there are a few workarounds posted in the public forums:

Can you tell me if Telerik Ajax has the same issues involving viewstate in a web farm?

Hello Developer,

You are the first one to contact us with this question and honestly no one has yet complained about such an issue (RadAjax Prometheus is still in Beat though), but our ASP.NET ajax control is on the market for almost two years now and works correctly. Note however that it is not entirely compatible with MS Ajax extenders and controls build over MS AJAX.

Try add folowing line to your web.config
<pages  validateRequest="false">
and adding folowing propery to @Page tag can be very helpfull too.
EnableEventValidation="false".
