I'm looking at the Telerik PDF Demo at:

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet/prometheus/Grid/Examples/GeneralFeatures/PdfExport/DefaultCS.aspx

When I click the PDF button, I get dialog and a download progress bar for about 604kb, but the resulting file is blank when viewed.

I use the Foxit Reader program (v2.2) and get no errors. If I attempt to open the file with Acrobat Reader 4.0, I get an error #117.

I've also tried doing a PDF export on my own PC and it was blank too.

What might be causing this problem with your demo and how can I work around it?

Hello Simon,

Acrobat Reader 4.0 was released in 1999 - before almost nine years. The current version is 9.0 regarding to Adobe website. We are using a couple of different versions starting from v6 to v9 without any issues. Foxit Reader 2.x is also being tested with this demo.

Could you please try to first save the file before opening?

Let us know what your findings are.

Hi Daniel

I'm aware that the Acrobat Reader 4.0 is old, but it is a handy reference as a simple viewer.

Either way, I still get a blank PDF, whether I choose to open or view the file, even in FoxIt. I use PDF a lot, including many documents created by my own systems from ActiveReports, so I know FoxIt can work well and this is the first time that it has not for me.

I have uploaded the saved PDF file to:

http://www.capridata.com/RadGridExport.pdf

so you can have a look at it.

Hello Simon,

It suppose this behavior is not related to our controls. Please check the attached images.

I found the following link which may be helpful:
Adobe Acrobat .pdf Files Appear as a Blank Window or Frame

Thanks Daniel. I have upgraded to FoxIt Reader 2.2 to version 2.3 and can now see the file contents. I had no idea that the PDF file specification had changed as I could still read the 100's of PDF files I already have from various sources.
