Hi folks.
In the demo page of the radeditor control, when the user opens the Paste Html dialog window and paste a piece of text from MS Word, after the user hit Paste, the delete or backspace keys don't work when selecting the pasted text from the editor, it seems that is getting in readonly mode or something.
Is there a workaround for this or am I missing something really obvious?
I've tested this issue only in FF3.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jaime,

I tried to reproduce the reported problem but unfortunately without success.

For your convenience I have attached a video that demonstrates my test. Could you please, tell me what I am missing?

Due to the large video file size, it was archived with rar compression and you can extract it using the free 7-Zip or the trial WinRar tool.

Hi, thanks for your response, here is a detailed step by step procedure to reproduce the issue:
  1. go to http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/editor/examples/default/defaultcs.aspx
  2. change to html view
  3. remove all the content
  4. change to design view
  5. copy some text from a word document
  6.  from the paste toolbar button select the "Paste from Word" option
  7.  over the layout do a right click => paste
  8. click the paste button
  9. select some text
  10. press del or backspace

Hope this helps.

Hello Jaime,

Thank you for the detailed instructions!

We were able to reproduce the problem - unfortunately it does not occur every time, and it is extremely unclear what could be causing it. Some things that we were able to determine while testing are:

- Problem only occurs when there is no content in the editor content area whatsoever
- Switching to HTML mode and back causes the problem to go away
- Only Backspace and Delete stop functioning - all other keys work just fine.

We tried a number of hacks to see if things will get to work, but we were not successful.
We will perform more investigations in the next couple of days and hopefully come up with explanation/workaround.

Stay tuned!

Hello Jaime,

Using the current latest inhouse version, I am not able to reproduce the problem anymore. This could be the result of the changes we have made in the control regarding other reported issues. I use the word "could" because it was never clear what is causing the problem in the first place - our initial research failed to determine a specific reason it.

Tomorrow there will be a new public Internal Build made available for download, and my suggestion is to give it a try on your end as well and see if the problem still exists.
Let  us know if you encounter any problem.
