The ordering of multiple grouped columns does not work as expected. Specifically, attempting to drag (re-order) a column to the right of another column (in the group header) provides a visual representation, but upon releasing the mouse has no effect. However, reordering columns by dragging them to the left of other columns does work.
Likewise, attempting to group a new column by dragging it to the right of an already existing column does not provide a visual representation or have any effect.
The Grouping on-line demos exhibit the behavior described above.
I am using IE version 7.0.5730.13 and Firefox version 3.0.1.

Indeed you are right that there should not be a reorder indicator when dragging group panel item after the last one in the group panel.
The good news is our developers have already addressed this issue and the fix will be available in the next service pack of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX, scheduled at the end of August. I have updated your Telerik point for reporting this discrepancy to us.
