I tested the ComboBox behavior with version 2016.2.504 and the OnClientBlur event fired as expected when clicking outside the control's input, both in Classic and Lightweight render mode. Could you please post your ComboBox markup declaration so we can make sure we are testing it using your specific configuration, as some of the properties set might be relevant to reproducing the issue.
