We have used Rad.Controls 2007 Q1 for our website. We recently have plan to upgrade our Rad.Controls to the current version (2008 Q2 I believe) to get more features.

However, we don't want to re-write everything that already in our pages. Can the old version and newer version of Rad.Controls be used on same page without any conflict? (As I understand, the older version & newer version has different TagPrefix, so they should work together?)

And what's the price for upgrade? Or can I upgrade just few controls instead of whole package?

Thanks

Darren L.

Hi :

We have same scenario about upgrading  to  2008 Q2 issue.
we have a asp.net project using classic r.a.d controls(2007 Q2),
we planned use some new controls in 2008 Q2(for example, r.a.d scheduler ) for this asp.net project.

we need keep old version in this project and use only some new controls in  2008 Q2 to minimize code modifying. but we found all our r.a.d controls(2007 Q2) has been reference to 2008 Q2

Can you povide some solution for this scenario?

thanks

Lu

Hello,

Darren: It is possible to have RadControls for ASP.NET and RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX controls on the same page (they use different TagPrefix and assembly), however two versions of the same control from different suites cannot be mixed.
Also it may be helpful to note that our RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX resided in a single assembly (Telerik.Web.UI.dll).

I suggest you to contact our Sales team by mail or support ticket in order to receive more information about prices.

Daniel: We don't recommend (although it is possible) to mix controls from different suites - RadControls for ASP.NET Q2 2007 RadGrid and RadControls for ASP.NET Q1 2008 RadAjax for instance. As I mentioned above it is possible to mix our classic (RadControls for ASP.NET) controls and the newer RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

* It is not recommended to mix the controls from different versions (eg. RadAjax Q1 and RadGrid Q3)
