I've D/L the trial version of your latest ASP.Net AJAX Controls.  I'm particularly interested in using these controls:
  • RadTreeView
  • RadDock
  • RadToolBar

In all your examples, you always utilize the RadScriptManager and the RadUpdatePanel.  From a marketing perspective I understand why but from a pure technical point of view is there any reason I absolutely need to use these rather than the native ones that come with VS2008?

Perhaps you could point me to some URLs that explain the benefits and drawbacks of using your version of these existing controls.

Thank you,

Robert W.

Hello Robert,

You can use the standard ScriptManager and UpdatePanel as well.

The most important benefit for RadScriptManager is script combining which offers performance benefits. For full details on RadScriptManager please refer to this help article and this blogpost.

Info on RadAjaxPanel is available here.
