Hi
Can someone give me some pointers on moving an application to a new developement computer.
A site has been developed using:

- windows xp OS
- IIS 5
- Visual Web Developer 2008 sp1
- Q3 2008 RadControls installed

The new machine is
- windows vista ultimate
- IIS7
- VWD 2008 sp1
- Q1 2009 RadControls installed

I have taken the brute force approach and tried straight copy of the relevant website
from wwwroot on the old to wwwroot on the new.

First problem - the menu bar does not open on mouseover or click - so something
is missing...

Can you give me some clues as to where to look. Maybe web config needs updating?
Do I need to reload the dlls in the bin folder...

Thanks for your pointers

Clive

Hi Clive Hoggar,

I suppose that the javascript failed to load.
Please check this troubleshooting article:

Well it seems to have partly fixed itself!

I decided to create a simple test page to look at the page source and follow the diagnostic
journey suggested in the troubleshooting section.

First thing was to add a radScriptManager to the page, and it said
"  telerik.web.ui.dll already exists, do you want to replace it?".
I said yes.
Then tried the real page again and the javascript stuff is working.

Remaining problem is that the Telerik menu bar is about 15% shorter and the submenu
text smaller, with closer line spacing than before, although the other page items and text
are the same. Is there something else that needs to be updated?

I am still viewing with IE7 and Firefox 3, as before.

Thanks for your quick help.

Clive

Hello Clive Hoggar,

The built-in skins in Q1 2009 received a major face lift.
Still, you can use the pre-Q1 2009 skins with Q1 2009.

Also, you can check this forum post:
All RadControls Q3 2008 Skins Are Now Compatible with the Q1 2009 Release

Thanks

The facelift looks nice, but it looks like some of the defaults have changed. I needed to specify
some of the css properties that were OK previously left as the default.

Having done that I am now back to where I was, but it does look somewhat sleeker.

Thanks
