I have a scheduler being used for a number of functions, diary, leave etc. In some instances (the majority of browsers) when the cursor is moved over a date it is not always highlighting, and if a double click is made into a day it opens up with the start date of the month shown, not the date that was clicked in.

If the day link is hovered over first then the day highlights, and once this happens some of the other dates also highlight correctly, but not all of them, and it is not consistent.

This seemed to start happening a few Telerik releases ago - currently still shown in 2010.Q3 SP2 release as well.

I can provide a url where this behaviour can be seen if this helps at all.  This is becoming a major issue for some of my customers now who are getting annoyed that they cannot always enter data for the correct date.

Hi David,

Yes, please send us a live url or open a support ticket and attach a simple working demo of the issue.

Hi Peter,

You can see the behaviour at:

www.professonline.com/default.aspx?token=demo

You will be asked for a user reference and password: DGP for both.

Select Diary, Month View. Depending on screen resolution and in some cases browser you should find that if you move the cursor over some days of the month the day is not highlighted  In these cases, double clicking opens a RadWindow but the date is the start of the displayed calendar.

Hello David,

Thank you for the link, but we couldn't experience the problem. Here is a video capture of our testing - http://screencast.com/t/NG4y8NG2lwC.

What browser type and version do you use? Are there any other specific conditions needed to replicate the problem?

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I can see it's fine in your video. It also works OK on my development machine which is Windows 7 running IE9.

I can reproduce it on all our other machines that run Window XP and use either IE7 or IE8.

I will try and capture a video on one of those machines, but the Jing program you used does not seem to like running on my XP machine, so I may have to install Camtasia to do a capture.

I'll let you know when I have a video you can view demonstrating the issue.

Hi Peter,

I have now taken a video of the issue on a machine that exhibits the behaviour - view it through the link below:

http://www.screencast.com/t/opSBRfHaMm

It seems to be restricted to Windows XP Machines (SP3) running either IE6/7 or 8. Have not tried IE9 on any of these machines yet.

It does not exhibit the behaviour using Firefox or Chrome. Have not tested in Safari.

I am assuming it is a configuration in IE because not all of the machines in our office running XP and IE7 show the problem.

Hello David,

Thank you for the additional information. I was able to reproduce the issue on the site provided under Windows XP with IE7.
I noticed that your site is running Telerik.Web.UI version 2010.3.1109. We had such a problem before which is already fixed in the latest 2010 Q3 SP2.
Do you reproduce the issue at our online examples - they are running Telerik.Web.UI 2010 Q3 SP2 version?

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/scheduler/examples/customization/defaultcs.aspx

If not -please upgrade to the latest version and let us know how it goes.

Hi Helen,

The hosted site is on the 2010.3.1109 version, but internally we are also running against 2010.3.1215 and the problem still exits.  I am downloading the latest service Pack 2010.3.1317 and will see how that performs internally.

Testing against the sample on your site everything works as expected.
