Just an FYI for you nice folks at Telerik.
I think* there may be an issue with the Image, document and other managers, when using IE8. The dialogs open fine, but they do not get populated with the list of files and folders. At first I thought it was a web.config/httphander thing, but I am seeing the folders when using IE7 or FireFox.

This is probably something security related in IE8, but I don't know what it is...

Hi Stewart,

There was a problem in one of the RadFileExplorer controls (namely RadAjaxLoadingPanel) that could cause a problem in IE8 in some scenarios, but this problem has been fixed subsequently and the coming Q1 2009 SP1 later this week should work fine.

That said, the problem should not have manifested itself in RadEditor FileBrowser dialogs as such.
Hence, the cause for the problem might be different - and we will be thankful if you help us resolve it quickly.
Are you able to reproduce the problem here in the online demos:
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/editor/examples/default/defaultcs.aspx

Also, in case that you are able to re-produce the problem in a separate project and send it to us, we will be  thankful.

Kind regards,
Tervel

Hi Tervel, your demo appears to be working fine. I don't have a demo I can easily send you as it's part of a larger CMS. That said, here is a description of what it is:

  • The page uses the telerik:RadAjaxManager and the RadLoadingPanel
  • The page has a tabstrip with a RadGrid in one of the RadPageViews
  • The RadGrid is wired up to the RadAjaxManager
  • The RadGrid uses a user control for EditFormSettings
  • The user control has a number of controls including a RadEditor
  • The RadEditor uses a skin residing within App_Themes to control appearance and configuration
  • Within the skin there are valid entries for the target folders for the image, document and flash manager

That is the basic breakdown of the page structure. As the RadLoadingPanel is involved, that may be the source of the problem. Luckily (or sadly as the case may be) my client is still using IE6 so I can wait until SP1 ships and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks
Stewart
