Hi,

If I use the listviewdesigner and choose a view from a list where the ID is not selected in the view, listviewdesigner creates a table with the ID vissible in it.
I don't want to see the ID.
How do I change this behaviour?

Regards,
Edwin

Hello Edwin,

I am not quite sure if I understand correctly what you are referring to. Could you please provide a screenshot or a short video, so we could get a better idea of the issue in question.

On a side note, please have in mind that the designer's behavior could not be changed, but if there is a problem with it, we could log the issue in our system and our developers could investigate it. If it proves to be a bug, they will provide a fix for it in one of our future releases.

If you create a list in SharePoint, SharePoint automaticly gives every record an ID.
This ID is also shown in the Telerik SPRadListView Web Part, even if you choose  a view as source for the ListView Web Part where you do not show the ID.
I would like to have the possibility to not show the ID in the ListView Web Part. But if this behaviour is by design, I understand you can't change it.

Attached is a picture with an example of what I'm trying to explain.

Edwin

Hello Edwin,

Thank you for the screenshot and the additional information. Know I have a better idea of the issue that you are experiencing, but this should not be expected if your view is correctly configured to not display the ID field.

Since this is not expected, what I could suggest is that you ensure that your list does not have the ID field selected. Additionally, you could bind the list to RadGrid and see if the ID filed will be visible. RadGrid displays only the selected fields, so if the ID is present in RadGrid as well, the problem should be in the configurations.

Hello Konstantin,

I checked with the RadGrid and then you don't see the ID.
In ListView I do see the ID.
The source for both webparts is the same view.

I've attached a screendump with both webparts vissible, so you can see them.

Hi,

Does your SPList has any specific settings, different than the default once and do you bind the web parts to the default view or a custom view?
I tested the described scenario with a newly created SPList and when the ID field is not selected in the view it does not show in the web parts either.
Here is a short video of the test with RadListView and RadGrid web parts both showing identical results.
Let me know if there are any differences in your test case that can cause the problem to be replicated.

Kind Regards,
Marin

Hi,

I also created a short video. I just created a list and then the RadGrid and RadListView. Still the Id in the RadListView and not in the RadGrid .
Can you see if I'm doing something wrong??

And attached a picture of the view, so you can see that the ID is not checked.

Hi,

I replicated the described issue. It seems to be a problem with the designer of the ListView web part. I have forwarded it to our development team for further investigation. Meanwhile you can use the "Edit Web part" option from the web part menu to configure the databinding. It should not show the ID in this case.
