How to Group by year of a date column

I have a column that is a date type and want to group by just the year portion of the date. 

Any help would be appreciated.

You can go through the following code library submission which explains about grouping a grid's data by month.  Similarly, you can make modifications to the code sample so as to make the grid group by year.
