Hi Louis,
This is a specific of the Visual Studio 2008 handling of toolbox items (it recognizes the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX assembly, built on top of .NET 2.0 compatible for a web project, targeting .NET 3.5). FYI, this is fixed in Visual Studio 2008.
There is a solution if you don't use .NET 2.0 specific projects: I would suggest that you uninstall RadControls and install them again, entering Custom install mode and unselecting the .NET 2.0 Components from the setup. This way the .NET 2.0 assembly will not be copied to your system and won't be added to the Visual Studio 2008 toolbox at all.
Let me know if that helps.
Kind regards,
