grid grouping with stored procedure

Is it possible to do a group by grid with a stored proc? The telerik training video shows a select statement and I am unsure how to go about grouping by columns when there is no select statement - I have added the bound columns using the open property builder and that works - but after i set the group by i would have to remove the column to hide it from repeating in the grid no? please advise. thanks. i was able to group by the column and set the visible property of the column to false and that worked.... i am happy again.
