Hi,

When i drill down on a user in the orgchart, i see two icons one go to root and other go to parent, what is the difference between them and how are these populated , meaning how does orgchart now which node to go when we click on those icons.

Hi Sekhar,

Thank you for your question. Whenever you use the GoToParent option of the drilldown the RadOrgChart is expanded to the parent node only. In contrast to that whenever GoToRoot option is used the RadOrgChart control is fully expanded to root item of the control. For a better understanding of this functionality please refer to the following demo - OrgChart - Drill Down.

Thank you Kate. One question, how can i have only the go to Parent option and can i make the arrow visible all the time instead of it showing up only on hover. If it is not possible to show all the time, what other alternatives do i have to show it all the time just like the + sign at the bottom of the node.

Hello Sekhar,

To view only the GoToParent option of the node you can use css selector and hide the GoToRoot one. For example you can refer to the following demo to get a better understanding how this can be achieved - OrgChart - DrillDown to view details. Considering your other question unfortunately setting the expanding and collapsing arrow of the nodes as visible all the time instead only on hover is not currently supported with the RadOrgChart control.
