Hi,

the first thing I tried was to convert an existing project.
Works fine so far - but add's an authentication section to web.config - although there is an existing one.
--results in an error - pretty easy to fix :)

Next I tried was to create a GridTemplate.
I used "export to PDF" -- nice thing BUT - it would be great if you use the configuration.connectionstring instead of inserting the plain text.

About the first point -- the <authentication mode="windows" /> is inserted every time I use the wizard to change settings.
A last idea about the wizard - MaxReuestLength is a thing I change (at least) in the matter of megabytes.
So it would be good for me if the stepping (Spin buttons) is set to 1024 or something like this.
Hitting this button 2048 times to allow 2 megs more :)))
Just kidding - I know I can enter the value by typing text - but since the spins are there....

One question - what's the difference between "Add Rad controls template..." and "More Templates..."?
Looks pretty the same for me.

Regards

Manfred

Hello Brett,

Thank you for the great feedback, we really appreciate it. We will address some of the issues in the next release of the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX VS Extensions.

Keep sharing your feedback, as it will not remain overlooked. Our main goal is to continue improving our products and make them more attractive to the clients.

Thank you once again for the valuable feedback. I have updated your Telerik points.

Best wishes,

Ummm, yeah. All I did was mention the spelling mistake. I think you need to give credit to Manfred for the constructive feedback.

Thanks for the points. Hope they're non-refundable :)

I hope this decisson (who get's the points) does not mean that the attitude of teleriks "quality management" is "correct spelling is all that rules" :)

Just kidding!!!

I know over the years that telerik always tries to improve their products.
And since most of us (I guess most telerik customers are some kind of developers) are in the same situation (improve our products) it's pretty normal to give feedback since we also need this from our customers.

Hi guys,

Manfred, indeed your report was helpful! I'm glad to say that we already increased the step of the MaxRequestLength SpinEditor.

Up to the other points:
  • We already have the duplicated <authentication> node logged to our bug database and we will have a fix for that by the end of the week.
  • We already have the <connectionstring> usage in our TODO list. This implementation is somewhat harder, but I hope we will manage implementing it for some of the first service packs.

As per the "Add RadControls Template..." and "More Templates..." options, actually currently these are the same. Our intention is to mimic the Visual Studio "Add New..." dialog and have the "More Templates..." option point to the very first item in the dialog. Apparently this is the General template, which makes both the menu options point to the same item.

Basically we provide points to stuff that we still didn't find. In addition to your report, the discussion in this thread became a positive one though, so please, find your Telerik points updated :) Keep up discovering our glitches guys, we always appreciate that :)

And... Brett, yes, the Telerik points are non-refundable :)

Cheers,
