The provided above code snippet works fine on our side, when it is placed inside the Page_Load event.

The difference is that I use ExplorerMode="Thumbnails" in my scenario.
I also cannot set the Pager Text...
Is there a proper work-around for this?

Hi Marc,
I managed to reproduce the issue in the Thumbnails mode of FileExplorer and I can confirm that this actually is a bug, connected with the FileExplorer's localization.
I have logged this issue into our database and you can track its progress in the following link: PITS. As a small token of gratitude I have updated your Telerik points accordingly.

The feature request for this improvement in available here, so you can vote for it in order to increase its priority (and popularity):
