Hello Robert,
The default file browser content provider allows you to use folders only from the current web application. It is not possible to use files from arbitrary folders on the server's drive or network drives. However, it is possible for you to write a new content provider and change this behavior. You can make the editor use files from other locations or even from a database. See the following links for more information:
