I'm adding a static menu to a website. I'm thinking the fastest rendering will be if I declarative create it in-page. If it's not I could just as well use xml or whatever way that is faster.
Perhaps there isn't much difference between these methods?

There should be no difference if you declare your menu inline or load it from XML. You the way which is most convenient for you.
