This is straight out of all the demos posted on this site (http://www.telerik.com/DEMOS/ASPNET/Prometheus/Dock/Examples/Overview/DefaultCS.aspx)

I can't get any of the floating docking windows to move, nor can I resize them in any of those demos.

I didn't want to start testing this control if it's not working out of the box on Telriks own site and I haven't seen any posts regarding this problem.

I'm using Windows XP SP2 & IE 7.

As a side note I tested the pages using Firefox 2.0 and they do work there so it appears to be an issue with IE7 (at least for me)

Is anyone else having this issue?

Hello Paul,

We are not aware of existing a problem such as the one you describe. Probably it is related to some browser configuration settings which disables scripts being executed. Please, open Tools->Internet Options in your IE7 browser, select the Security tab, then click on the Internet icon choose Custom level and check whether the Scripting is enabled in the Scripting section. If it is disabled, enable it and test whether the problem will disappear.

Yes, it appears to have been disabled there. Not an obvious place to go looking for a solution though.

It would be a nice feature if the dock window could detect that it is disabled and a small indicator was given so the end-user could resolve it on there own. Otherwise the intended fuctionality is lost. I wonder how many other features are broken if this is disabled....

Thanks!

Hello Paul,

The problem you experienced is a browser security issue which is not related to the RadDock control itself. If scripting is disabled you will experience problems with all other controls which use scripts. Disabling scripting stops the execution of the script code which provide part of the functionality of the corresponding control and therefore its proper functioning is disturbed.

Understandable. I haven't seemed to have problems getting anything else to work. I probably would never have noticed if it wasn't for this one particular issue. It's odd that it only showed itself with the RadDock. I run scripts all day long.

Thanks!

Hello Paul,

It depends on the kind of the scripts you run whether they will be disabled by disabling active scripting. Disabling scripting will surely affect other controls which use scripts as well not only the RadDock control. More information about Active Scripting you can find here
