I'm experiencing a problem with drag and drop on a few machines that have Vista and IE7. Specifically I can do the drag and drop but the dragged element does not appear to follow the mouse during the drag. The problem does not appear to be with speed as the dragged element does not follow the mouse no matter how slowly I move it. If I press any key on the keyboard while dragging, the element jumps to the mouse and then it follows it smoothly.
I can reproduce the problem on the Telerik portal demo page. Anyone else seen this?

Here's some further information: it seems that if I have the IE7 Protected Mode on, I experience this problem. As soon as I turn Protected Mode off, the problem goes away and drag and drop works fine.
Recommending users to turn off Protected Mode is clearly not a solution. Any other workarounds?

I was not able to reproduce the problem you experience using the My Portal online example on Vista in IE v7.0.6 and Protected Mode turned on. I have attached a video demonstrating my testing process. Please, take a look at it an let me know whether I am missing something. I would like to also request for more details about the version of the IE browser you use, other specific configuration settings and any other information you find relevant.

Interesting, I can see that it works for you. However I was able to reproduce the problem on the page linked in your post. When Protected Mode is on, the dragged element does not follow the mouse at all. As soon as I turn Protected Mode off, drag and drop is fine.

I have the same Medium-high security level. All the settings should be pretty much default. I've disabled all IE extensions. The problem still remains.

We made some tests with RadDock for ASP.NET AJAX in IE7(7.0.6001.18000) on Windows Vista Enterprise.
Here are the results:
If Protected Mode is on and security level (Tools/Internet Options/Security) is:
1) Medium - RadDock works as expected
2) Medium-High - RadDock works as expected
3) High - RadDock couldn't be dragged - expected behavior, because in High Security Level - Active Scripting is disabled.
Could you please make sure that in your security level(Security Settings dialog-> Scripting) the Active Scripting option is enabled? If this option is disabled, please check it to be enabled. E.g.
1) Tools/Internet Options/Security
2) Set security level to Medium-High
3) Press custom level (Scripting/ActiveScripting should be enabled)
If this suggestion doesn't help you, please, send us some screenshots of your IE7 security settings.
